Move-in/out details

These procedures are for the benefit of all owners. Please feel free to provide a copy of these procedures to
your removalist as this will make the process easier for them too.

You must make an appointment to move your goods into your new apartment. A minimum of 72 hours’
notice is required.

 

To make a booking
Please contact the building caretaker on 1300 232 532 or info@cleaningmelbourne.net.au at least 72 hours
prior to your planned move-in time. Please make sure you have confirmation of your move-in time before
confirming this time with your removalists.

Guide

Utility connection 

Telephone, Internet and Pay TV
Contact your preferred telecommunications service provider to arrange connection of internet, telephone
& Pay TV services.
To connect your apartment, the technician will need to access the Main Distribution Frame (MDF). For
access to the MDF, please provide your technician with the phone number of Engine Property Group (1800
364 463). Engine will provide your technician with access to the external key locker.
We would strongly suggest that any internet or telephone connections (once set up from the MDF) are
tested by your provider at the point of connection in the apartment.


Electricity
Please contact your preferred electricity retailer to arrange the connection of your electricity. You will need
to provide them with your name and address (including your apartment number). The electricity provider
may state that they will need to send someone out to your home to read the electricity meter. Instead of
this, ask your electricity provider to read the meter remotely. This will be cheaper for you and it will mean
that you do not need to be at the site when the technician attends.


Gas & Bulk Hot Water
Residents are required to set up their gas and hot water account with Origin Energy. The Shiel Street
Apartments have a bulk hot water supply with separate meters for each apartment. These separate meters
establish individual resident’s gas consumption. No access to your apartment or the building is required.
Origin Energy can connect this remotely. Contact Origin on 1300 734 533 to transfer the gas and hot water
into your name.


Water
The water supplier in North Melbourne is City West Water. Your solicitor or conveyancer should organise the
transfer of the water bill with City West Water into your name. If you have any questions about this process,
contact your lawyer/solicitor or City West Water on 131 691.

 

Hot Water

To make sure your hot water is connected to your premises, you need to open an account when you
move in. Give us a call on 1800 684 993 to discuss your options.

 Complete the online form at originenergy.com.au/bhwopenonline
 Download, fill in and email our ‘Move In’ form from originenergy.com.au/bhwopen then
email it to us at bhwmove@originenergy.com.au (or fax it to 03 8635 3012)
 Give us a call on 1800 684 993 (7 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm
Saturdays)

Welcome letter-hot water

 

Key order

Keys / Fobs / Remotes
All purchasers will be provided with 2 apartment door keys, 2 fobs, 1 remote for the garage door, 2 mailbox
keys and 1 car stacker key. To request additional keys/fobs/remotes, residents are to contact the Owners
Corporation Manager and complete an order form.
